Welcome to the 2008 Arizona State Airports System Plan web site. This site will provide you with information about the project process as well as up-to-date information about activities and public involvement efforts associated with the project.
Arizona’s air transportation system has been developed in a diverse manner to serve the state’s transportation and economic needs. The State Airports System Plan (SASP) is an important tool for ADOT, helping to shape key policies and directing development needs of the Arizona system of airports for years to come.
To ensure the effectiveness of the SASP, a strategic approach will be developed to evaluate Arizona’s airport system. The SASP will provide guidance for the long term development of ADOT’s air transportation system and will be characterized by the following elements:
- Quality: The SASP will be technically sound.
- Flexibility: The SASP will be visionary yet realistic, while providing insight into how ADOT can best achieve its goals and objectives.
- Usefulness: The SASP be useful to ADOT and the key stakeholders.
- Involvement: The SASP will be developed with the use of meaningful community outreach and education.
